illustration JF Martin from the Collection No. 1 of the house is cardboard http://www.lamaisonestencarton.com/ Yesterday while reading the blog the excellent Vincent Cuvelier (excellent as a writer and as series editor), I learned that Mr. François Busnel had made his own at the Book Fair and Youth Press. Yes it was in December, but there are flush and tired of this love of the ephemeral and any hot news, it is warm but it still makes me boil.
This dear sir (literary journalist its state) spoke, in an introduction to the review of a book by Danielle Sallenave children's literature by putting all its darkness and its Aprioris on the subject. Fortunately
Valerie Zenatti used his right to reply Médiapart on, and she has done very well.
But the most appalling in history is that it happens almost every year this little circus.
literary journalists arrived seeing Montreuil feel compelled to do a paper on children's literature. Again to stick to the news. And so they cast a quick glance at the production, one of the year and begin to write about a subject that they obviously mastered very poorly.
A similar incident occurred in the columns of the World books in 2007, when the journalist Marion Faure told his readers of the atrocities that were read to teens. She spoke mostly of the beautiful and, indeed, difficult collection of One voice Actes Sud Junior. Again an article written with a blatant disregard on the subject and judgments to the punch. And there still shields were raised .
The funniest or most pathetic in the story is that Mr. Busnel had already tried the exercise of "talking like Montreuil arrives Children's Literature" in the issue Open book on France Culture in 2009. And its stakeholders, booksellers of high quality, had the job by talking about what this incredible pool of children's literature. But a year later we find that F. Busnel contradicted by writing about his radio and did not take the time during the twelve months to address at least one of the books recommended by booksellers. I bet that if he did, if he had read the wonderful Life begins at Stefan Casta Thierry Magnier it would went for a tour in Sweden to interview in the issue of the large bookstore on France 5.
When this issue and knows that the world of books is the media most prescribers with readers, and that youth is the second sector bookstore selling more one thinks there is something rotten in the Kingdom of Denmark. And these ladies and gentlemen journalists should still make the effort to put a little more light on the actors of literature known as youth or hire journalists who know and let them work on the subject. There is plenty to do as many items as those on the adult literature.
But as the saying mischievously E. Orsenna this video (at 11m30) from the excellent website journalistic Stories endless, there are journalists who know there is intelligent in this area, as in adults, good books and bad books that deserve some good kicks in the butt to realize it. So to balance
also talk about good journalists:
on France Culture's program until the moon and back on Saturday at 21:30, it talks about the culture for young audiences: theater, music, literature.
France Inter on the issue Have you read, my little wolf Sunday at 7:55 p.m., be punctual it lasts only 5 min.
As illustrated by the excellent Jean-Francois Martin in my image introduction to the house is cardboard
CHILDREN BOOKS ARE IMPORTANT.
Vlan!
